Webb
President, University of Central
Oklahoma
W.
Roger Webb was named the 19th
president of the University of
Central Oklahoma in July 1997. UCO
is a campus of 16,000 students
located in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Previously, Webb was president of
Northeastern State University in
Tahlequah, Oklahoma from 1978-1997.
Webb's professional career began in
law enforcement where he was with
the Oklahoma Department of Public
Safety, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and
he served as Commissioner of Public
Safety for the State of Oklahoma
from 1974-1978.
Among other organizations, Webb is a
member of the Board of Directors of
the Memorial Institute for the
Prevention of Terrorism (MIPT), a
trust that was created by Congress
after the 1995 Oklahoma City
bombing. The MIPT collects and
documents data and conducts research
on the threat of terrorism
throughout the world.
Webb is a former member of the Board
of Directors for the American
Association of State Colleges and
Universities (AASCU).
